The Process - Who I am and What I do
My name is Manya Siva, and I have been a Wedding Designer for 10 years now, heading a talented team of decorators. Our primary objective is to transform our clients' visions into a reality that surpasses their expectations.
Throughout the design process, I collaborate closely with clients, engaging in multiple video conferences spanning 3-6 months. Our discussions cover various aspects, including conceptualization, design, themes, color schemes, and the selection of specific props tailored to each wedding. We take pride in being a comprehensive one-stop-shop for all decor needs.
Our detailed consultations extend to diverse elements such as backdrops, floral arrangements, drapery, ceiling installations, furniture rentals, dance floor wraps, and lighting. After we are onboarded, we conduct site visits, capturing measurements and videos. Subsequently, we provide clients with a visual walkthrough and present a 3D mockup/rendering of the final design tailored to their chosen venue.
Somebody once rightly said, “You are only as good as your last event”. The struggle to perform is continuous, the stakes are high and there cannot be a single event where I can sit back and take it easy:) But that smile on the client’s face when they walk into the room with a WOW, the hug and the heartfelt thank you is beyond all monetary value of this job 🙂
My journey
My kids were 1 and 2 years old respectively when I embarked on this career, I gave up a 6 figure tech job to follow my passion. Weekends were no longer date nights, my husband used to be up all night taking care of the kids despite his intense corporate job while I used to be away making memories for my clients at events. I cannot thank him and the entire set of family and friends for their constant support and appreciation of my work in my early years. With every word of admiration and motivation came more creativity, more innovation and the need to do bigger, better and more challenging events.
California - what do I love?
I love California for its diversity and options in landscape. As an avid traveler and lover of nature, I cannot be more thankful to my job for taking me some of the most beautiful wedding venues. You want a beach wedding? Head to the coast. You want mountains and Snow in the background? Done. Head to Yosemite and Tahoe. You want the woods? No problem, we have plenty of redwoods and sequoia parks.
I also love that the weather is predictable in California for most of the year. This is important as a decorator. Since we plan our events months ahead of schedule, we know when we need to have a Plan B for rain (typically Nov – March), when we need patio heaters(Oct – April for night events) and when we need fans and coolers(July and August) 🙂
Bangalore- what do I love?
Bangalore's unique blend of culture , climate , food scene and the proximity to family has drawn me to extend my profession to this vibrant city and start another thriving office here. Bangalore is a melting pot of cultures, with people from all over India and the world calling it home. This diversity has been perfect for my love for planning and executing fusion weddings.
Overall, I love my work and am looking forward to creating beautiful memories that last a lifetime!
